Kid Nice is a band of cousins. One cousin is named Thom. The other cousin is named Alex. Thom is from Brooklyn, and Alex is from Arizona. Growing up, it was hard for them to determine if they had much in common– they lived so far apart from each other, and Alex is three years older than the younger Thom. However, this all changed when Alex graduated from college in 2019, and moved in with Thom’s family in Brooklyn. Alex merely needed a place to stay while he got back on his feet, but what he ended up with was much more than that. He not only found his cousin, he found a musical brother.

In late 2019, the nice kids started writing and recording music together in Thom’s parents’ home. It was something fun to do, while they took turns playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 on a janky old TV. And that scene really captures the essence of Kid Nice. Just two 90s kids playing fun music, like the shit they grew up with. Goofballs. Skaters. Ballers. Slackers. That’s just the Kid Nice way.
