Matthew Danger Lippman is a New York City institution, becoming a household name  in several NYC music scenes. Originally from Buffalo, he got his start playing live music at the ripe age of 14. After playing all over Buffalo and Western New York, he ventured off to SUNY Purchase at 18, and eventually Brooklyn soon after.

His music has been described as e-boy Americana. Twangy guitars, and modern romance are themes MDL fans have come to know. Former SNL staff writer Dan Licata, described his music as, “good.” Matthew has enjoyed a wave of new listeners after his 2023 release Once You Get Low You’ve Gotta Start Flying Baby. Lead singles off the album, And and Tarantula, have cemented themselves as fan favorites. MDL fans have anxiously awaited the release of unreleased bangers, such as Modesto Baby and Simp’s Plea, due out later this year on Cropsey Records.
