Violet Hetson is the award winning artist behind Powerviolets. Growing up in Connecticut, Violet knew from a young age that music was her calling. Her mother would often find the young Violet writing songs on her toy piano. Her father played music in a touring band, and occasionally, the young Violet was lucky enough to experience True Rock Music. This only strengthened her resolve to hone her craft, and meet those lucky fans out in the audience once more.

Since young adulthood, Violet has played music under the Powerviolets name. She is joined by Dan Christmas (Drums), and Beau (Guitar). The ‘violets have had several releases, with their 2020 release No Boys being a defining moment for them. Violet often describes the project as Butt Rock Revival, and contemporaries have often referred to her as “The Female Chad Kroeger of Bushwick.”

Every Powerviolets show is different, and special. Violet’s ethereal voice pierces through the band’s rip-roaring post-punk riffs, leaving audience members completely hooked. The iconic riff for their song Furrowed Brow is sung and hummed by young music types all over North Brooklyn.
